Internal Audit Manager

Description:
The Internal Audit Manager will assist staff in the identification and audit of significant risk exposures.  Review audit programs, workpapers, memos and reports to ensure they are in accordance with department and professional procedures and standards.  Train and guide staff to ensure they deliver professional, organized, and timely verbal reports and presentations.  Ensure projects meet target dates.  Prioritize staff workloads to meet auditee needs and department's annual plan.  Perform periodic staff evaluations and salary reviews.  Position reports directly to the Director and requires appearances before management up to officer level to present control issues and recommendations.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business field.  Must have CPA or CIA.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of audit management experience guiding and directing a staff of 3-4 employees at a minimum.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Position requires considerable diplomacy and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to monitor multiple audits for multiple locations.
  • Insurance knowledge/experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft products.
  • Must have analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of VISIO and ACL preferred.
Working Conditions:
Heavy PC usage.  Occasionally bends/stoops and lifts up to 10 pounds.  Some travel required.
