Timeline For Submitting Your Ad To The Home Office
If you choose to write your own advertisement, keep in mind the amount of
time it takes to get ads approved.
| Week 1: |
Submit a completed Advertising Submission Form (F5985) along with a copy of the material to be reviewed through your Gneral Agent or Branch Manager. Your request will be returned if the form is incomplete or the material is not included. Submissions can be faxed to 972-569-3728, Attention: Compliance. Or you may e-mail the submission to: adapproval@torchmarkcorp.com
The Compliance Department will log the date it receives the ad submission. Representatives from Compliance, Legal and Marketing meet
each Wednesday in the Home Office to review all materials which have been submitted during the previous week. Each department representative reviews each submission for adherence to Advertising Guidelines and makes recommendations as needed. |
| Week 2: |
Submissions received after
12:00 noon on Monday will be reviewed the following
week. |
| Week 3: |
All communication regarding advertising
submissions, changes or approvals will be filtered through the General Agent or Branch Manager. The General Agent or Branch Manager will be notified by fax, phone, or e-mail of any changes that need to be made to the ad to make it compliant with Company Advertising Guidelines. If, after reviewing the Home Office recommendations, the Agent still wants to proceed, it is the General Agent’s or Branch Manager’s responsibility to ensure changes are made to the ad and to return it to Compliance for written confirmation and approval prior to publication or use. The final copy that Compliance submits to the State must incorporate all changes, form numbers, etc. |
| Week 4:
|
The Compliance Department submits all field-generated ads to the state for filing if necessary.
In most states, the average turnaround time for state approval is sixty (60)
days; some states take longer if objections are raised. Should objections be raised by the state, Home Office approval could be delayed by several days or weeks.
You may not use the ad until you have been given formal approval by the Home Office. Approval will be faxed or e-mailed to the General Agent or Branch Manager.
