ProCare Approvals
A special mailing regarding ProCare Medicare Supplement new business and renewal rate information has been mailed to General Agents in
South Carolina, Oklahoma and
Tennessee. If you did not receive this notice, please contact the Agent Service Center at 1-800-925-7355.
As 2000 ProCare approvals are received, existing Medicare Supplement customers who are currently on the $3 ACF Partners program will be converted to the enhanced ACF Partners for $5 per month. Details regarding this enhanced service are included with your rate increase notice.

Interest Rate Set
The Lifestyle Annuity new money interest rate for April is 6.10%. The new rate for
May will be 5.90%. Rates will continue to be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

Important
Cancer Plan Update
A rate increase of 15% has been approved in Indiana for the
Cash Benefit Cancer Plan (CANB), effective 5/15/00.
A special mailing explaining the increase has been sent to Agents and will include a special rate card to be inserted into CANB brochures until brochures can be reprinted.
No applications can be processed with old rates if written 5/15/00, or later, or if received in Home Office after 5/31/00. |

In Missouri, newborn hearing screening, prostate cancer screening, pap smear and colorectal cancer screening coverage have been made mandated benefits for the Good Sense Plan effective immediately. A new rate card is being printed and will replace your current supply effective immediately. Order supplies now and they will be shipped upon completion of printing. |

GSP Approval Update:
UA’s Good Sense Plan lead card (LC-54) has been approved in Georgia. All orders must be in thousands. Orders below 10,000 will cost $25 per thousand; if quantity is 10,000 or more the cost will be $20 per thousand. Lead card may be imprinted with your Bulk Rate Permit for an extra $2 per thousand. Allow four weeks for delivery.

Underwriting Guidelines:
Dating Applications — Applications must be dated the day the application is completed, not the day it is sent to the Home Office or the date the insurance is to become effective.
Policy Effective Dates — Coverage becomes effective the date United American receives the application except business issued on a monthly mode will become effective the date the policy is actually issued. Policies cannot be dated the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month. |
