4 Cancer Plan Update
As announced in the April UA News, a rate increase for the CANB is being implemented. This rate increase only affected the following 17 states:

Alaska, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Wisconsin.

Of those 17 states, there are eight states that will now use a revised brochure with new rates. States using this new CANB-AP2R9 brochure are: AK, D.C., ID, LA, MS, MO, NE and NV. Agents in these states should call supply to place their order.

All other states affected by the increase will continue using existing brochures with the rate sheet insert until supplies are reprinted.

4 ProCare Issue Age Update
ProCare rates on new business issued in Delaware and Nebraska have been changed back to issue age pricing. New rates are effective June 15, 1999.

New app/brochures and issue age rate cards are available to order from supply. Please discard all attained age sales tools for these states.

4 Attn: Tennessee Agents
In Tennessee, UA’s LTC Gold Series plans now offer tax-qualified coverage. However, the LTC Gold Series Tax-Qualified Form & Application brochure (BOMGQ(41)) contains plan codes for the Non Tax-Qualified Gold Series plans.

To ensure a tax-qualified policy is issued, please manually change these plan codes to the following: Plan code Q49WITHOUT inflation rider; Plan code Q50WITH inflation rider. Any application submitted with the incorrect plan codes could result in the application being pended or the policy being issued incorrectly.

This will be a temporary measure until brochures can be reprinted with the correct plan codes.

4 Update On List Bills
To qualify for a list bill, a group must consist of a minimum of 10 people. Remember list bills can only be applied to Medicare Supplement, Cancer and Accident plans. There are forms the Agent needs to complete and send in with the application to ensure the list bill is set up initially. Contact the Agent Service Center to get these forms.

4 Reminder: Med-Supp Rates
Remember, when customers select annual ProCare premium payments, their rates are guaranteed not to increase for one year. Other modes of payment are subject to premium increases after four months.
